TLC Celebrates National Nurses Week
TLC Celebrates National Nurses Week
May 6, 2017 – May 12, 2017
National Nurses Week celebrates nurses and their role in society. The week also helps to raise awareness about nursing as a possible career choice and also to educate the public about the kind of work nurses do.
The week also celebrates the legacy of Florence Nightingale, a nurse who became famous for treating wounded soldiers during the Crimean war, and for her work in establishing nursing as a profession in its own right. Florence was affectionately known as “The Lady With The Lamp”; she made a lot of her ward rounds at night while carrying a lamp. Florence Nightingale founded a nursing school in 1860, providing the first type of professional nursing establishment in the world.
Meet our “Florence Nightingale”….Michelle Mahan, RN for TLC HomeCare Services since 2010. There isn’t a client or caregiver that we have come across that doesn’t adore and respect Michelle, her skillset and warm professionalism. We at TLC love and respect Michelle and know that we could not have made it this far without her.
To all of the nurses out there, enjoy your week and know that TLC HomeCare Services thanks you and all you do for your patients and community.
